Coach Leo Librando is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with over 16 years of dedicated service, driven by a deep commitment to discipline, honor, resilience, and empathy. A veteran of two combat deployments to Iraq, Coach Leo served in vital leadership roles during his military career, including Satellite Communications Technician, Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor. He concluded his service as a Master Instructor and Chief Instructor for the Marine Corps Communications-Electronics School in 29 Palms, California.
Transitioning his passion for leadership to the civilian sector, Coach Leo has dedicated his life to helping others achieve their personal, physical, and mental milestones. As a coach with the Catch A Lift Fund, he specializes in endurance sports, strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, and adaptive/inclusive training. By blending a military work ethic and perseverance with evidence-based coaching methods, Coach Leo focuses on maximizing athletic performance while minimizing the risk of injury.
Coach Leo’s coaching expertise is backed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University. His advanced wellness credentials include NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer (ATA), 80/20 Endurance Coach, and USAT Level 1 Triathlon Coach.
Originally born in Cebu City, Philippines, Coach Leo immigrated to the United States in 1992. He has been happily married for 14 years to his wife, who also immigrated from Cebu City in 2011. Together, they live with their three children: daughters Athena Grace and Lheora Faith, and son Leonidas Cain. True to the endurance lifestyle he teaches, Coach Leo leads by example—frequently competing in Jiu-Jitsu, Ironman triathlons, 100-to-200-mile ultra-endurance cycling, marathons, and ultra-distance swimming events.
